I think it was an excellent idea to make music for the Eurotunnel. It seemed quite a challenge at first but it turned out easier than I thought because we all worked together well. This project has showed me that there’s more to music than just the regular stuff that’s out in the charts. There was more reality in this music. This project has made me think of new ways of making music, e.g., with more sound effects and gaps. Also the project helped me work with others easier. I want to do it all over again (not just because I got out of lessons, honest!)!!!

I thought it was a great experience. I have learnt a lot about producing music and using different techniques to make different sounds. I enjoyed working with Robert and felt that I could bond more with my classmates. I used to think that music had to have a beat, follow a pattern and have ‘strict’ boundaries. Now I believe music is more of an art and not one type of sound. I think my idea of music has broadened, and I can understand the psychology of music and what it’s supposed to mean. I don’t need words now, whereas I thought it was boring without them. The one thing I thought was strange, everybody kept trying to put a name to this music. People say it’s classic. I think it’s just Art. Creativity Music.

I thought the music project was really interesting, and very DIFFERENT. It’s like I have discovered a new world of music that I never knew existed. It has changed the way I think about music a lot because it has made me understand the kind of things that happen with music and the elements that make it interesting, instead of going and repeating itself and getting boring, or even dull. The project has helped me understand the ways of which music is important and that you can’t just have music going in one straight line. You have to have gaps and pauses to let the piece of music sound more interesting. I would like to do something like this again and to experience more of this stuff. And not just coz I get out of boring lessons.

I thought that this music project was really interesting. Everybody was working together to create a satisfactory piece at the end. I think it was good how we were able to create our own melodies to fit in with the current melody. I don’t think it has changed the way I think about music. But it has given me more of a view on music. I now realise it isn’t actually that difficult to organise, record and produce a decent piece. It’s helped me realise how different instruments can be mingled together to create a good tune and satisfactory end result. I also find it strange how different styles can be put together and actually sound pretty good. I enjoyed it.

I thought it was really good because it was our music. We have done something that sounds really good. I started to listen closely to music that I like and I don’t like. Not just listening to music but things at home and school sounds. It has improved my drumming and I learnt lots of different things. I liked listening to what other kids our age have done to see if it’s better or worse.

I think that this project was really exciting and it was such an experience, I would definitely
do this project again because it really does get your imagination running and it makes you
wonder what its trying to get across to you. I think it has changed my way of music
because I no longer think of music how it’s played, I think of what comes out of
the music, the sounds you can’t hear. It has made me be more creative with music
than just playing pieces of music on the piano. It sounds far better. Also, it
has inspired us for our futures, e.g. making our first CD. I will remember the
teamwork and all the different stuff I have learnt.

I thought that this music project was interesting and good because of all the different types of music used. It has changed the way I think because I never knew how much effort it takes to make just one CD, or how many takes you have to do. I think the project has helped me to experiment with differiment.

I thought the music project was very good and it had good interesting sounds. Normal kinds of music have beats and this one piece of music doesn’t have beats! It has different sounds like it has a sewerage problem or a boat is going to sink. I found it very interesting and groovy. I think this project has helped me in some way as we can all experiment with different things. If there was another piece of music later on in the year then I will be very willing to do it again. I will remember the different sounds we had made and doing the project.

It was good working as a band rather than just a solo piece. This is unlike any music piece I have done before because we used many forms of instruments. It has changed the way I think about music completely. It has made me think about music as a more of a team work and cooperation kind of thing. I think it has improved my music and everyone’s music who took part. It has helped me to become more imaginative and cooperative. It has also taught me you don’t have to use an instrument to make a good sound.

I don’t do this sort of music. I hate it. But it was very fun even though I have been annoyed because you have to be so quiet. But it’s fun to play in a big group and be with all your friends making a completely different style of music. And you miss lessons. There’s a side of music I ain’t ever heard before. Parts of songs you can’t listen to because it’s so high-pitched and parts are nice and soft but some of them are so boring so it’s a whole mixture.

I think this music project has helped me to be more creative when I play. It has also helped me keep in time with what people are playing, and also it was fairly fun. It hasn’t changed the way I think about music a lot but I can hear the quiet parts in songs more easily but other than that I still think of music as I’ve always thought of it. It has helped me to be more creative on drums and not just hitting. I have found many other things to do with them.
