Aims     Sessions     Feedback     Comment

From a reading of the written feedback from both the staff and the students it is clear that the project was not only a success in terms of its prescribed aims and objectives but also has made a marked impression on those involved.

From the students' perspective they found that the project challenged their perceptions about music and sound in general, as well as helping them gain confidence in their musical abilities. Many of them also remarked that the project had helped them with other classroom skills such as concentrating and teamwork.

" It has changed the way I think about music completely. It has made me
think about music as a more of a team work and cooperation kind of thing.
I think it has improved my music and everyone's music who took part."

[Michael Peachey - Hartsdown Technology College]

Comments from the staff involved in the project agree that it had a positive effect on the students. As well as this, there was also a general feeling that they themselves had gained something from the project, not only in seeing their students in a new light but also experiencing a different approach to teaching in the classroom.

" Thank you for a fantastic and truly inspirational day. As a stick-in-the-mud
old teacher who has spent his whole career trying to encourage young people to open their
minds, think for themselves and 'grow', today was, for me, a truly enlightening experience. "

[Tim Vinall (Director of Performing Music) - Brockhill Park School]

The Europhonix installation also doubled as the official launch for Creative Partnerships Kent. Approximately two hundred invited guests took part in the traveling installation and a great day was had by all who attended.

" I thought the sound piece was truly excellent and the feedback from students in the
CD sleeve really re-enforced the value of the work (even beyond the actual outcome). "

[Michael Craven (Director of Arts) - Southern & South East Arts]

Finally, the project benefited from the support of three main sponsors, namely Bose, Eurotunnel and SAGA. Through the bringing together of these major partners new possibilities have opened for future development.

" Due to your vision and expertise, a truly creative partnership has been borne. We are
delighted to have been able to contribute to such a wonderful day and we look forward to the
possibility of continuing this partnership with new projects for youngsters in both France and the UK. "

[Rob Lamond (Commercial Director) - Eurotunnel]
